Crime Stoppers working with the community
CrimeStoppers is a community program in which members of the community, the media, law enforcement agencies, and businesses work together to solve crime. Citizens are encouraged, via cash rewards and a promise of anonymity, to provide information leading to the arrest and indictment of criminals.
Who is Involved?
CrimeStoppers is made up of volunteers who are willing to take action against crime. They wanttheir community’s to be a safe and are willing to work to make it that way. A board of directors – members of the community who have volunteered to give their time and talents to the program – administer the program.How does it Work?Information related to unsolved crimes, crimes in progress and wanted persons are distributed to the community via the media. Citizens are encouraged to call CrimeStoppers and anonymously give any information related to the unsolved crime. CrimeStoppers forwards the information to the investigating law enforcement agency to assist in the investigation or the location of a wanted fugitive. If the information is used by law enforcement and leads to an arrest, the caller would be eligible to receive a cash reward.

Your community benefits. A criminal who is taken off of the streets of your community is not a threat to you, your children or your business. In a community where citizens work together to solve crimes, the threat of swift, sure punishment serve as a strong deterrent to would-be criminals.
How Can You Help?
CrimeStoppers is funded mostly by private donations. Individuals, professional associations, corporations, retailers, civic and social groups are our main source of revenue. CrimeStoppers’ only purpose is to make our community’s a better and safer place to live and we need your help to reach that goal. CrimeStoppers gives every citizen the opportunity to actually do something about the problem of crime in their community.
